Redwood Trails at Stone Lagoon

"Try Our Blackberry Pie In The General Store!"

Our first and largest resort can’t be seen in one visit. There are so many things to see and do that visitors always leave without even knowing how much can be seen and done at this truly rare resort.

The Pacific Ocean, with one of the least used and prettiest beaches in the world, is only a nice one mile walk away. It’s called Humboldt Lagoon State Park (Dry Lagoon) and well worth a visit. Only three miles in back of Redwood Trails you can see the tallest trees in the world … redwood groves beyond belief in the Lady Bird Johnson National Park. Don’t try to walk this up hill, primitive forest area, just drive around North of Orick to the park’s entrance.

Clik here to Listen to the Elk

While in our park, every evening and early each morning you’ll see one of the largest herd of Roosevelt Elk to be found anywhere. Identified by their white rumps, this huge animal is the largest elk to be found. Some of the big bulls approach a ton in weight.

This little valley that forms the Stone Lagoon Community is a rare example of what this country used to be like. Very little changes have been made to keep the special beauty that Mother Nature has given this pristine valley. A visit to our Barn (soon to include a fine restaurant), our Club House (and Rec. Center), our Red Schoolhouse Museum, and our Quaint General Store might just give you the impression that you have stepped back in time a century or so..
