There are so many places to have a picnic around these parts it would be nearly impossible to list them all. but we will try to mention the more unique ones.

The current record holder is in Rockefeller Forest, Humboldt Redwoods State Park (exit Highway 101 at Founders Grove and follow the Mattole Road west). This world champion tree is 370 feet tall. The world's second, fourth, sixth and eighth tallest known trees are also in Rockefeller Forest!
